about

I chose this artwork for a couple of reasons, first and foremost to show solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement and the events currently taking place in the US and here in the UK.
As a straight white male I feel it would be inappropriate for me to use any symbols or art work relating to the issues I’m talking about in this song because they are not my symbols to use, I’m trying to spread a message of self betterment for people like myself not promote my art, friends art or hijack any imagery that, to be frank does not belong to me.

The third reason is that I wanted to avoid using any art that would distract from the message and the material in the song.

I stand in solidarity with all people of colour in the LGBTQ+ community and I hope in some small way I may have helped to highlight some important issues.

I will be putting the song on only bandcamp for pay-what-you-want download with all proceeds going towards charities CRER Scotland and Stop Hate.UK.

Hopefully the message I am trying to illustrate gets across.

Thank you.

lyrics

You say you can’t be racist because you have black friends?
It's like me saying I can’t be sexist because I am my mother's son
Sounds crazy,really?
This is the world we're living in

Hope is not lost
There's still time
To make a change

Take the time to better yourself?
Open your mind,educate yourself
I'm begging please try to better yourself
Open your mind,educate yourself
Let's try and make this world a more peaceful place

You're not homophobic but he keeps looking at you?
Not every man wants to fuck you pal.
Masculinity is just a fantasy
Try understanding human empathy

Chorus

You make a choice
Say what you mean, mean what you say
You have a voice
Think before you speak,solidarity! Solidarity
